This might be a smooth-brained question, but is there any benefit to massage guns? I know those are a popular gift. Therabody has one with red light as well. Would love to know your thoughts!
Not at all smooth brained. My natural ... gear-agnostic routine is showing—they're helpful, especially if you strength train and get knotted up. I would say the occasional/reg massage is a good idea, along w hydration, rest and so on.
killer list. just gotta co-sign the heavy weighted vest, my goal is 2-3 hours of walking with 45lb a week. 3.4-3.6 at a 2% incline. as someone who literally never runs, my cardio has increased dramatically the last year doing it.
The tonal range here—somewhere between ancient monk, Eastern Bloc weightlifter, and downtown aesthete—is exactly why I keep coming back.
The Three More Reps rec paired with Draper’s Brother Iron, Sister Steel hit the sweet spot of sicko + sentimental. And the bit on gifting magnesium glycinate made me laugh—every year I’m like “Here’s the gift of sleep, don't make it weird.”
Also: calling raw dairy “dark nutrition” and describing red light masks as the face-only vanity of biohackers? Gospel.
Spinal Engine is great. If asked (which I wasn’t), I’d add “Biotensegrity: The Structural Basis of Life” by Graham Scarr, “Human Locomotion” by Thomas Michaud, “Recognizing and Treating Breathing Disorders” by Leon Chaitow, “Anatomy Trains” by Thomas Myers, “Explain Pain” by David Butler and Lorimer Mosely, and “Born to Walk: Myofascial Efficiency and the Body in Movement” by James Earls. Call it the “Dark Physiology Starter Pack” maybe 🦾
Happy to see Berkey listed because I’m tired of places like Wirecutter trying to say they don’t like their testing. It makes water taste so good which is a huge step towards drinking more of it.
Yeah, was reading the same thing. Wasn’t sure if that was an arbitrary number for all vs people lifting frequently. I’m assuming you’re using 30 - 40 lbs?
they say 5-10% of bw - for exercises and so on, which tends to keep them light
an adjustable upbuy is a good option (https://amzn.to/3YW0Oti) - otherwise i'd just start light (10 lbs even) if it's just walking and add more over time
Diabolical list. Just make sure they eat the skin on those Kiwis 🥝 🤑
okay but did you use the katialis soap on your face tho
Yeah it gave me Tilda Swinton pores
is there an equivalent available in the UK?
would certainly consider a skincare diet! have been battling for a while now

Got the Nordic curl. Used to be able to do it for reps. Trying to get back to it

How do you decide which weight to go with on the weight vest? Is there some sort of calculation you use?

Yeah I'm at 30 lbs. I weigh 200
I started with less. thanks for asking

Curious why you recommend gelatin over collagen?
I wouldn't say recommend - I tend to go for it bc it's closer to 'food' and make jell-o with it; they're fairly equivalent, try one, try the other
